SAKAKI, JASON
Jason Sakaki is a Japanese-Canadian actor, writer, director, producer and teacher based out of Vancouver, British Columbia.
In the last ten years, Jason has appeared opposite Bob Odenkirk in AMC’s “Lucky Hank”, in the lead cast of the Disney+ Feature Film “Prom Pact”, a seven episode arc on Netflix’s hit limited series “Devil in Ohio” starring Emily Deschanel, recurring roles on the upcoming shows “The Audacity” (AMC) and “Sterling Point” (Amazon Prime) as well as in films “Honor Society”, “Spontaneous” (Paramount+), “Christmas is You” (GAC Family), “Game of Love” (Hallmark), “Starwalker” and “Les Filles Du Roi” (Urban Ink), and TV Series “The Irrational” (NBC), “Riverdale”, “iZombie” (CW).
Appearing on some of Canada's largest stages, he has received rave reviews for his roles in comedies, musicals, and Shakespearean productions. His recent credits include over one hundred performances as Bob Gaudio in “Jersey Boys” (Arts Club Theatre Company, Citadel Theatre), two seasons as Rolf in “The Sound of Music” (Arts Club Theatre Company), leads in the last two years of the critically acclaimed and community beloved “East Van Panto” (The Cultch/Theatre Replacement) and a season at Bard on the Beach, Western Canada’s largest Shakespeare festival.
In 2025, he makes his Directorial debut, with his short film “Ramen Boys”. A Gay Asian rom-com, Ramen Boys has played multiple film festivals across the Canadian circuit including the Vancouver Queer Film Festival. He has produced on multiple short films and web series, and continues to uplift and support underrepresented voices in Canadian media.
Jason is a teaching artist for the Young Shakespeareans and Bard in the Classroom program at Bard on the Beach, and for Kids/Youth Film and Television classes at Vancouver Young Actors School (VYAS) as well as Adult Training at Vancouver Acting School (VAS).
